Since we’ve been to San Antonio Riverwalk a couple times before, we decided to enter from a different direction, and oh my goodness, how this place has grown. There’s still the familiar sights, but the expansion had us all turned around. We gave up trying to figure out where we entered on our previous trips, and just took it all in.
First stop, lunch. We knew we wanted a table on the water, and we also wanted to try some place new, so we stopped in at River’s Edge Cafe and Patio Bar. We had been eating mostly Mexican food and barbecue up to this point, both at restaurants and cooking on our own, so we decided to try something different. Steve had a Chinese pulled pork sandwich, and I had a shrimp fajita salad. Do we know how to live outside the box, or what?
Since we had a busy day planned, we decided to skip the boat tour this time and explore on foot. We recognized familiar places, and discovered new ones, as well. Still as gorgeous as ever.
One day we’ll take in a performance at The Arneson River Theater at La Villita
And for that matter, we saved spending time at La Villita for another time. It’s an entire village unto itself.
La Antorcha de la Amistad, “The Torch of Friendship” is a monumental sculpture that can be seen from many vantage points in downtown.
Such beautiful scenery to walk off lunch, and people watch. I love to people watch. I like chatting with people. Oh heck, I like people.
